Matthew 5:13-16 In the Sermon on the Mount the Beatitudes are the elements of the Christian life. But this next section deals with the Christians influence. In every Mass as we near the time for Holy Communion we call on the Lamb of God three times, twice to take away our sins and a third time to grant us peace. Good morning Holy Angels,

Jesus sent back the messengers to John the Baptist with this reply,

‘Go back and tell John what you hear and see; the blind see again, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised to life and the Good News is proclaimed to the poor; and happy is the man who does not lose faith in me.’ (Matt 11:4-6)

Good morning,

This season of Advent is a time of particular grace for us. Jesus comes to us with a different grace in each season; in Advent in the grace of joyful expectation, at Christmas with the joy of knowing that God has become one of us, during Lent with the grace of repentance as we meditate on Jesus’ Passion and during Easter with the grace of hope as we look forward to sharing in Jesus’ resurrection.

Good morning Holy Angels, today we celebrate the Feast of Christ the King. It was because nations and states were abusing their power that Pope Pius XI introduced this feast in 1925. So this is only a recent feast in the Church, and abuse of power is what led to its introduction, using power in the opposite way to Jesus.
