One Body with Many Parts

One Body with Many Parts
The apostle Paul compares the body of Christ to a human body. Each part has a specific function that is necessary to the body as a whole. The parts are different for a purpose, and in their differences they must work together. Christians must avoid two common errors: (1) being proud of their abilities, or (2) thinking they have nothing to give to the body of believers. Instead of comparing ourselves to one another, we should use our different gifts, together, to spread the Good News of salvation.

Moses & God

I’m sure you know the story of the life of Moses – how he set the children of Israel free and they journeyed to the Promised Land. But allow me to briefly retell it so you can see what God showed me.
Israel was in slavery to Egypt for hundreds of years until God sent Moses to set His people free. Pharaoh released them after God demonstrated His power through ten miracles. The Israelites were not only set free, but they also left with the “wealth of the wicked.” (See Proverbs 13:22.) All the gold and silver!

THE CALL

The Call
God knew you as He knew Jeremiah, long before you were born or even conceived. He thought about you and planned for you. When you feel discouraged or inadequate, remember that God has always thought of you as valuable and that He has a purpose in mind for you.
The prophet Jeremiah was “appointed” by God as “spokesman to the world”. God has a purpose for each Christian, but some people are appointed by God for specific kinds of work.

LEARNING HOW TO PLAY THE GAM

LEARNING HOW TO PLAY THE GAME
Basketball can be played two ways. It can be played with the kind of sportsmanship that is gracious in winning and gracious in losing. Or basketball can be played merely for the win and money. The winning and money are legacies of some pros who have marred the dignity of the game with their tantrums, profanity, official bashing and bitter excuses.

Why Is This So Important

Why Is This So Important
Think of the key world events of the last couple of decades. The fall of the Berlin Wall. The Persian Gulf War. The El Nino weather events. The terrorist destruction of New York’s Twin Towers and attack on the Pentagon. The election of Barak Obama.
